Kevlar jacket with steel plate, Kevlar helmet, protective goggles, gas mask, and a weapon are just a few of the pieces of armor my husband uses to go into battle. All of the armor designed to prevent the enemy from harming him. Our soldiers would not face the enemy without the security of their armor on, why would we? Everyday we face an enemy who has the clear goal of destroying God’s kingdom and those who believe. “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11
Thankfully God gives us our own set of armor. “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:14-17
We should prepare daily for the battle and take refuge in the promise of our God. “With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.” Psalm 60:12
